January 18 - The Slow Jammers will set up in the Ash-craft Schoolhouse to play their old timey music from 12pm-3pm. Come join the fun! Everyone is welcome.
January 18 - The Ham Radio operators are in the village reaching out to the world! Did you know ham radio oper-ation goes back to the late 1800s? Students at Columbia University formed the earliest recorded amateur radio club in 1908. Learn more about ham radios between 9 am and 1 pm in the Surface Hill Assay Office.
Ham operators meet the first and third Saturday each month.

February 15 - Beginning Fiddle Workshop

Carl J. McEwen Historic Village
Led by Charlotte Fiddler Ed Gebauer, this workshop is recommended for beginners who already know how to hold and tune their instrument, and have already learned several simple fiddle tunes. Ed will cover the concepts of playing with good timing, tone and intona-tion, as well as bowing techniques.
After a lunch break (bring your own), everyone is in-vited to join the Slow Jam players and play our Old Time Favorites! Pre-registration not necessary, but appreciated

A time to honor those who have protected the United States through their military service. Visitors learn the history of our country through demonstrations and exhibits.

Christmas Tea

Christmas Tea

A warm Christmasy ambiance fills the Ashcraft School House which is transformed into a tea room for the occasion. Costumed in 20th century dress, volunteers greet guests and usher them to decorated tables where they were served a variety of scrumptious savories and sweets.
